Ang inductor The inductor — a coil that hates change

Tagalog: draft — for Kate / Janet to check.  Shown in slow motion: in a real circuit this all happens in thousandths of a second.

1. Parang mabigat na gulong ng tubig Like a heavy water wheel

Mabagal magsimula, ayaw tumigil. Slow to get going, refuses to stop. Lamp in parallel: flashes on at switch-on and again at switch-off.

2. Magnetic field

Kuryente sa wire = magnetic field. Mas maraming ikot ng coil = mas malakas. Current makes a magnetic field; coiling the wire adds the fields together. The field stores the energy.

3. Ayaw ng pagbabago It hates change

Resistor: biglang tumataas at bumababa ang kuryente. Inductor: dahan-dahan (back EMF). Resistor: current jumps instantly. Inductor: it curves up and curves down.

4. Ang motor at ang flyback diode

Ang motor ay inductor. Kapag pinatay, may malaking spike na pumapatay sa MOSFET. Ang flyback diode ang sumasalo. A motor is an inductor. Switch it off and it throws a big voltage spike that kills the MOSFET. The flyback diode catches it.

5. Saan ginagamit Where it's used

Motor, transformer, buck/boost converter, filter, choke. Sukat: henry (H). Measured in henries (H). A normal multimeter can't measure it; an LCR meter can.
